Demo housing units offer an exciting glimpse of Pineapple One.

The scenic drive to Kalumbila Town’s newest housing initiative is certainly worth it. Lush greenery, open spaces and a true feeling that you’re exactly where you need to be. There is a sense that the houses in this exciting new development will not only be well planned buildings, but they will also be cherished, wonderful homes.

Only a few minutes’ drive from Kalumbila Town’s fast growing commercial hub, is a glimpse of what is to come.

Pineapple One sits in lush greenery that reaffirms why Kalumbila is the Happiest Town in Africa.

The FQM Trident Employee Housing Initiative has taken a major step forward with the construction of demonstration housing units in Kalumbila Town. These demo homes provide a tangible preview of what is possible through the company’s affordable housing programme, offering prospective homeowners an opportunity to visualize their future homes. The initiative, which has already allocated 320 residential plots to employees, aims to empower over 300 staff members to build and own quality homes with the help of company-backed building materials loans.

Demo units showcase exciting housing features of the houses to be built and owned.

Backed by FQM Trident loans of up to K150,000 for building materials, the demo units will serve as inspiration and guidance for employees, helping them make informed decisions about home design, construction timelines, and budgeting. The move is part of the broader goal to foster self-sustaining, inclusive development around the Kalumbila mine by enabling employees to take ownership of their living environments. This marks a significant milestone in Phase One of the initiative, aptly named Pineapple One, with additional phases planned to expand the programme’s reach even further.

The demonstration homes also reflect the company’s deep-rooted commitment to sustainable town development in partnership with the Kalumbila Town Development Corporation. Together, they are working to ensure the housing initiative benefits not just the mine’s workforce but the wider Kalumbila community for generations to come.

Everybody needs good neighbours! Pineapple One is a housing development that reinforces community and a long term belief in the future of Kalumbila Town.

As the first walls go up, excitement and hope are building alongside them—laying the foundation for stronger families, greater stability, and a future where every employee can proudly say, “This is my home.”
